African-American Mennonites: 100 years in the Mennonite Church

 

Did you know that the moderator of the Mennonite Church is African-American? African-Americans have been significant leaders in the Mennonite Church in the last
half-century, and have been recognized as brothers and sisters in the faith for the last century.

 

Dwight McFadden, Jr. was commissioned moderator of the Mennonite Church at Orlando '97, the denomination's bienniel General Assembly, July 29-August 2, 1997 in Orlando, Florida.
